Call for papers

We invite scholars to present papers related to the advertised subject. A list of suggested subject areas and questions is given below:

  • Comparing different interpretations of scores in analysis on the one hand and in performance on the other. Is it possible to establish a connection between analytical practice and performing practice? Is it possible and desirable to detect affinities between concrete analyses and concrete performances? May performing practice guide musical analysis? Can analysis motivate convincing “analytical interpretations”?
  • Experience reports of performers about the role of analysis in their own rehearsing practice.
  • Historical traces about the connection between analysis and performance.
  • Experience reports on the usage of new technologies. Is there a desire to complement analysis with tools for the measurement and visualization of performance parameters?
